Mentorship Programme

Introduction

Our mentorship programme aims to cultivate talent and innovation in the field of cellular agriculture by helping to build a capable, motivated and diverse talent pool of people. We aim to support women pursuing careers or who are interested in entrepreneurship in the field of cellular agriculture to achieve their next career goal.

Impact

We have feedback to show that our mentorship programmes helps both the mentors and mentees develop their skills and confidence to enable them to progress their career within the field of cellular agriculture. Alongside this we know it also helps to build a stronger network of people working in the field. For more detailed feedback from each cohort see the sections below.

  • This first cohort, run in Autumn 2024, had a focus on women in cell ag, with 18 early career mentees matched up with more experienced mentors in the industry to help them further their career in the field of cellular agriculture. 100% of mentors gave 4/5 or above for the usefulness of the programme (with 80% giving 5/5).

Mentees stated the programme helped with:

    • increasing their confidence

    • helping them to make career-related decisions

    • helped them take steps towards careers changes

    • helped them expand their network

100% of mentees said their mentor gave them the support they needed.

100% of mentors said being part of the programme benefitted them as well as their mentee, and 100% would do it again and recommend it to others.

We also know of several mentor/mentee meet ups since the programme with mentees visiting mentors at their places of work either at Universities and work places.

  • Our current cohort (Spring 2025) are in the middle of the programme. We will update our impact section with their feedback once the programme has finished in the summer.
